“…19 Another study comparing a group of grand multipara with another group of non-grand multipara with a mean age of 66.1 years according to the types of UI reported that the interaction between vaginal delivery and age groups was significant for IUE and IUU types. 26 Regarding to history of hysterectomy, these results agree with another study carried out in the Brazilian northeast, 20 with a sample and a smaller age group than ours, and also with those from an international study that reported a higher proportion of urinary problems for women who underwent gynaecological surgery. 27 Functional disability due to stroke or other causes has not been verified in this study and this may be a possible limitation.…”

“…Clinical records should include the amount and frequency of spontaneous urine leaked, nocturia, urge, and the impact of this complaints since all of them have a negative impact on quality of life and could involve the deterioration of state of mind, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, embarrassment, and social isolation. 1,10,23,30 This study is mainly limited by its cross-sectional design and by the lack of more objective measures such as urodynamics, Q-tip test or ultrasounds. The survey did not ask the participants if they had been previously diagnosed with UI, had felt embarrassment because of these manifestations, or if they had presented alterations of the pelvic floor.…”

“…In a study conducted in Dammam, a city in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia, the stress UI was statistically significantly linked to grand multiparity, i.e., five and more births [ 49 ]. Another study found that parity significantly predicts stress and urgency UI [ 50 ]. A meta-analysis of studies on UI during the postpartum period found that multiparity is a significant factor in developing UI [ 51 ].…”
