Use of two-parameter distributions for a joint assessment of the residual resource of building structures and engineering systems of buildings and structures

Abstract: The article describes the use of two-parameter distributions for assessing the residual resource of engineering systems and building structures of buildings and structures. To estimate the residual resource, the authors propose using the Weibull distribution, beta distribution, gamma distribution, and student distribution. Scopes of each distribution are shown. In particular cases, these distributions turn into normal or exponential distributions, which are widely used to estimate the residual resource of buil… Show more

“…Non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques allow for the evaluation of structural conditions without causing damage to the timber elements or the overall structure [13]. NDT methods enable timely and cost-effective assessment of civil engineering structures, facilitating preventive maintenance, timely repairs, structural health monitoring, and the determination of the residual resources of buildings [14,15].…”

“…Currently, a large number of studies are devoted to the experimental study of the processes of corrosion in concrete and reinforcement [3][4][5][6][7], as well as the measurement of the corrosion rate directly in real time [8,9]. Methods of probabilistic modeling of concrete and reinforcement wear and destruction during the propagation of corrosion and calculation of the reinforced concrete structures' reliability are considered in [10][11][12][13].…”
