Usefulness of Iterative Reconstruction Method in the Field of Acute Cerebral Infarction Computed Tomography Examination

Abstract: We evaluated clinical images to investigate the usefulness of adaptive iterative dose reduction algorithm (AIDR) in the field of acute cerebral infarction. We did receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis by 4 radiologists using 50 clinical images (abnormal case=24, normal case=26) which were reconstructed by AIDR and filtered back projection (FBP). The area under the curve (AUC) value from average ROC curve of observers were 0.79 with the FBP and 0.87 with the AIDR (P=0.31). The standard deviation of A… Show more

“…Studies have shown that traditional Chinese herbal medicines has the effects of increasing high-density lipoprotein, reducing low-density lipoprotein, regulating blood lipids, stabilizing plaque, and protecting vascular endothelium. [ 19 – 21 ] In addition, in the early stages of ACI, Chinese herbal medicines can remove free radicals and reduce damage caused by free radicals. [ 22 , 23 ] This can reduce blood viscosity, thereby improving the oxygen carrying capacity of red blood cells and preventing brain tissue damage.…”

“…1 ACI, also known as ischemic stroke, is caused by blood supply disorders induced by various reasons in regional brain tissue, leading to necrosis of ischemic and hypoxic lesions in brain tissues and the clinical neurological deficits, 2,3 ACI may cause limb function and language dysfunction and can also affect cognitive function of patients in varying degrees, manifested as mental and behavioral abnormalities, apraxia, agnosia, loss of understanding and so on, and it will cause serious harm to patients' lives and living quality. 4,5 ACI patients are often treated symptomatically by expanding blood volume, reducing intracranial pressure, anticoagulating and controlling basic diseases. However, in recent years, with the change of people's lifestyle, the etiology of ACI is complex and diverse, and the effect of conventional treatment is poor.…”
