Using the Artificial Gas Lift to Increase the Productivity of Noor Oil Field / Mishrif Formation

Abstract: Noor Oil Field is one of Iraqi oil fields located in Missan province / Amarah city. This field is not subjected to licensing rounds, but depends on the national effort of  Missan Oil Company. The first two wells in the field were drilled in seventies and were  not opened to production until 2009. The aim of this study is to study the possibility of using the method of gas lift to increase the productivity of this field . PROSPER software was used to design the continuous  gas lift by using maximum production r… Show more

“…The findings revealed that the gas lift system contributed to the rise in production rate, which was measured at 3,198 STB/d while the reservoir pressure was equivalent to 2,750 psi. Saleh et al [41] conducted research to check the feasibility of a gas lift application to boost the production of the Noor Oil field. The continuous gas lift was designed using the PROSPER program to determine the highest possible oil production rate.…”

“…Discussing the possible use of the gas-lift method in the Noor oil field, Salh et al conducted a study that examined the importance of the gas-lift technique in order to improve production in this field. Their model involved the continuous gas lift method which caused essential production improvement [18]. Al-Janabi et al have conducted detailed research on the Buzurgan oil field, which has 43 wells with a cumulative production rate of 73,380 STB/day.…”
