“…Our results are consistent with those of previous studies, which showed increased FHR by MRA to pregnant women for 130 min [ 51 ] and by ritodrine hydrochloride administration into fetal sheep [ 52 ]. Although the clinical significance of tachycardia in fetuses is unknown [ 25 ], our results implied that MRA at a high dose, 1 h after initiation, significantly induced fetal autonomic changes, that is, the balance of sympathomimetic and parasympathetic responses.…”

“…We think it is of prime importante to reduce the marked side effects of fl-sympathomimetics because of their limiting action upon the success rate. Previous reports [ 1,2,6,8] have demonstrated that the uterine inhibitory action of ritodrine increases with the doses. The same pattern unfortunately occurs with respect to side effects.…”

“…Many of the β 2 -agonists have found use in tocolytic therapy, particularly in the risk of premature birth or in miscarriage, due to the higher selectivity for inhibition of uterus contractions [46]. Ritodrine is a short-acting β 2agonist with a hydroxyphenol group on a basic nitrogen forming a hydrogen bond.…”
