Vaccine Formulation Strategies and Challenges Involved in RNA Delivery for Modulating Biomarkers of Cardiovascular Diseases: A Race from Laboratory to Market

Abstract: It has been demonstrated that noncoding RNAs have significant physiological and pathological roles. Modulation of noncoding RNAs may offer therapeutic approaches as per recent findings. Small RNAs, mostly long noncoding RNAs, siRNA, and microRNAs make up noncoding RNAs. Inhibiting or promoting protein breakdown by binding to 3’ untranslated regions of target mRNA, microRNAs post-transcriptionally control the pattern of gene expression. Contrarily, long non-coding RNAs perform a wider range of tasks, including … Show more

“…This is due primarily to the complex in vivo environment, which often leads to unforeseen interactions, rendering the therapeutic ineffective or unsafe. [199] Therefore, a thorough understanding of nanoparticle behavior within biological systems is required. Moreover, there is a need to monitor the cross-reactivity of lncRNA-targeted therapeutics with other cellular components.…”

“…Myeloid cells, including monocytes and macrophages, as well as the inhibition of Bcl6, which acts as an antagonist to NF-κB is known to have a substantial influence in coordinating the innate immune response that is accountable for the progression of atherosclerosis. This condition is characterized as a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the arterial wall [102,103]. Inflammation indeed plays a crucial role as a mediator in various processes that occur during the onset and progression of atherosclerotic disease.…”
