Abstract:The carbide ligand in the iron-molybdenum cofactor (FeMoco) in nitrogenase bridges iron atoms in different oxidation states, yet it is difficult to discern its ability to mediate magnetic exchange interactions due to the structural complexity of the cofactor. We aim to understand how effectively carbon donors can mediate magnetic exchange interactions between iron sites in weak field environments. Here, we report the synthesis and characterization of two mixed-valent diiron complexes with C-based ketenylidene … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
