Aim: To translate and validate Leicester cough questionnaire in Urdu language for patients with Cystic fibrosis. Methods: It is a cross-cultural linguistic study. 150 participants were included in the study and Non probability convenient sampling was used. Inclusion criteria includes parents of children with CF, who understand Urdu, and have symptoms of chronic cough. Children with severe respiratory exacerbations were excluded. Data was entered using SPSS version 25 and same software was used for data analysis. Results: It took 6 months to achieve an Urdu version of LCQ, which proved to be satisfactorily acceptable when administered to 150 subjects. The questionnaire showed acceptable internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha =0.916), test-retest reliability by Pearson correlation ranged from 0.203 to 0.99 and intraclass correlation coefficient value 0.2 to 0.9 showed high reliability. Conclusion: Leicester Cough Questionnaire is a valid and reliable tool for assessing the impact of cough on quality of life in patients with Cystic fibrosis. Background: Cystic fibrosis (CF) patients have more acidic airway surface liquid (ASL), which can denature antimicrobial defensins. Induced sputum is non-invasive and is as representative as bronchoalveolar lavage. Objectives: The objectives of this study were to analyse the ASL pH obtained by induced sputum and assess the relationship between clinical features in paediatric CF patients. Methods: This is a prospective observational study in CF paediatric patients. Sputum was induced in a patient by inhaling 4.5% hypertonic saline, the sputum was collected into a sterile container for pathological analysis, and the pH was measured from the liquid part (ASL) in a gas machine. Introduction: Cough is frequent symptom in sarcoidosis and there are no specifi c tools for measurement of its severity in Serbia. Aim: The goal of this study was to translate and validate the Serbian version of the Leicester Cough Questionnaire (LCQ) in a population of sarcoidosis patients. Methods: After the LCQ forward-backward translation process, in the cross-sectional study in 275 (180 female) sarcoidosis patients Serbian version of the LCQ was administered together with other standardized instruments for measurement of Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs)-symptoms of dyspnea (assessed by MRC and Borg scales) and fatigue (measured by Fatigue Assessment Scale and List of Daily Activities), and patients' health status (assessed by generic tool-15D). Pulmonary function tests (spirometry and diff using capacity for carbon monoxide) were also measured. Results: Serbian LCQ version showed excellent internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha of its diff erent scores ranged between 0.901 for physical domain and 0.951 for the total score). Concurent validity assessed by correlations of all LCQ scores with other PROs and pulmonary function tests was very good, since all these correlations were statistically signifi cant. Conclusions: Our results confi rmed that the Serbian version of LCQ is a valid instrument to monitor the infl uence of chronic cough on quality of life in sarcoidosis patients.
