Abstract:The optical properties of monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides are dominated by tightlybound excitons. They form at distinct valleys in reciprocal space, and can interact via the valleyexchange coupling, modifying their dispersion considerably. Here, we predict that angle-resolved photoluminescence can be used to probe the changes of the excitonic dispersion. The exchangecoupling leads to a unique angle dependence of the emission intensity for both circularly and linearlypolarised light. We show that the… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
