Abstract:Compact fluid handling and delivery microfluidic systems allow controlled microscale fluid transport with fluid flow rates ranging from nL h−1 to µL min−1. Microvalves and micropumps are two of the most important components for fluid handling. This chapter focuses on explaining the basic principles of their design with the support of examples.
