“…These large particles have generally been prepared in a two-step process involving the use of preformed spherical particles as sacrificial templates, which were thermally or chemically removed following the completion of chemical reactions instigated within the templates. Millimetre-sized (zeolitic [19][20][21] and metal oxides: 22 Fe 2 O 3 , Al 2 O 3 and TiO 2 ) spheres have been made using ionic polymeric resin beads as templates. Zhang and co-workers 23,24 prepared a range of single and mixed metal oxide beads using polyacrylamide beads initially prepared through an oil-in-waterin-oil sedimentation polymerization.…”

“…Stein et al reported firstly the synthesis of macroporous silicalite-I zeolites by using arrays of monodisperse polystyrene spheres as templates. 7 Based on the similar route, many other macroporous-forming templates have been used, including latex-beads, 8 resins beads, [9][10][11] polyurethane foam, 12 ceramic foams, 13,14 starch gel, 15 wood cells, 16 kaolin, 17 silica spheres, 18 diatom, 19 Equisetum arvense. 20 Though these methods may allow tuning of the texture properties of the resulting materials by changing the nature of the template and the synthesis conditions, and yet the synthetic procedure is relatively complex and the mechanical stability of resulted macroporous materials is restricted due to the weak interaction between the zeolite nanocrystals and the wall of templates, which inevitably limits their practical applications.…”

“…4 shows the Raman spectra of the calcined FeAlPO 4 -5, AlPO 4 -5 and Fe 2 O 3 /AlPO 4 -5 samples at a wavelength of 244 nm which is within the range of the charge-transfer bands at 260 nm. The AlPO 4 -5 sample has its characteristic peak at 260 400, 500, 1140, 1240 cm −1 as a typical AFI structure [28,29]. The intensity of the peak around 260 cm −1 is very small, but in the Fe 2 O 3 /AlPO 4 -5 sample, the presence of the peak at 260 cm −1 is instead more obvious and recognizable.…”
