Variable Chaplygin gas in Kaluza–Klein framework

Abstract: We investigate cosmological features of the variable Chaplygin gas (VCG) describing a unified dark matter–energy scenario in a universe governed by the five dimensional (5D) Kaluza–Klein (KK) gravity. In such a proposal, the VCG evolves from the dust-like phase to the phantom or the quintessence phases. It is concluded that the background evolution for the KK-type VCG definition is equivalent to that for the dark energy interacting with the dark matter. Next, after performing neo-classical tests, we calculated… Show more

“…Consideration of viscosity in various CG model is also studied with interests (Saadat and B. Pourhassan 2013). Also, some CG models described accelerating expansion of the Universe by taking variable parameters (Salti et al, 2018;Salti et al, 2019). The latest CG model, so-called extended Chaplygin gas (ECG), is proposed to cover barotropic fluid with the quadratic equation of state (Pourhassan and Kahya 2014a; .…”

“…Another study [59] about the GDE model has been made in the framework of Brans-Dicke theory by considering a spatially homogenous anisotropic Bianchi-type spacetime. More about the aforementioned reconstruction mechanism can be found in [60][61][62][63][64][65][66]. A lot of research (for instance see references [67][68][69][70]) have been carried out also for the generalized ghost dark energy (GGDE) in higher-dimensional cases.…”

“…The forms of barotropic fluids dubbed as Chaplygin gas [50,51] and generalizations of Chaplygin gas [52][53][54] have also been used in literature to interpolate between an early time decelerated phase and late time accelerated expansion phase. The cosmological features of variable Chaplygin gas described a unified dark energy -matter scenario have been studied in five dimensional Kaluza-Klein gravity [65].…”
