“…The line-by-line comparison also shows 7,[13][14][15][16]25), and found them to be consistent with the band (10,12,19,22,25,26) all indicate that the N 2 -broadening coefficient is usually about 3% larger than the air-broadresults of the present study in the B-type n 1 band. Because of the lack of temperature-dependent air-broadening mea-ening value for the same line.…”

“…The scattering of reported values, in the range 0.644(42)-0.822(59) (one standard deviation is given in parentheses), does not allow a general trend determination of the n parameter. The present results can be compared to the experimental mean values reported by Smith et al (13,14) from studies in the 1 and 2 bands involving all type of transitions: n ϭ 0.67 (7) and n ϭ 0.53 (8), respectively. Barbe et al (15) reported the value n ϭ 0.72(4) for both N 2 -and O 2 -induced broadening, determined from measurements on 35 lines in the 1 ϩ 3 band.…”

“…Here we take great care to derive these coef-perform a nonlinear least squares fit between calculated and observed transmittances, as explained in Ref. (24 (17) may be explained here: The probe of temperature was not directly in the gas, but was in the matter of the cryostat, cooled by liquid N 2 flow, leading to a real lower temperature of the gas mixture than used for n retrieval. Also, the spectrometer resolution was 0.020 cm 01 , on the order of total widths of lines, when foreign gas pressure around 100 Torr is used, so that the accuracy on halfwidth was lower.…”
