“…Differences in the number of setae on the frenulum in males and females have also been described in Tortricidae Rota et al 2009;Monsalve et al 2011) and Pseudobiston pinratanai Inoue, 1994 (Geometridae) (Rajaei et al 2015). In H. armigera, only one seta is present in males, while females have a pair of setae.…”

“…The Ecdytolopha group (Clade II‐C) was originally defined by Adamski and Brown (2001) to include Ecdytolopha , Gymnandrosoma , Pseudogalleria , Thaumatotibia and Cryptophlebia , which are at the base of Komai's (1999) “ Grapholita genus group”. Most members are large species, many with a distinct pretornal patch on the forewing, a female frenulum with three spines (Rota et al., 2009), the accessory cell of the forewing small or absent and a short discal cell in the male hindwing (Komai, 1999); the larvae usually lacking an anal fork, and the L pinaculum on T1 elongate, extending below the spiracle (Adamski and Brown, 2001). Members of the group are distributed nearly worldwide, occurring on every continent except Antarctica.…”

“…Cladogram of the tribe Grapholitini in the Palaearctic region from Komai (1999). Rota et al (2009) found that the number of spines in the female frenulum was reduced from three to two in many Grapholitini, suggesting that "this character may be of phylogenetic significance, but an overall pattern is not immediately obvious". Komai (1999) had previously recognized this feature as a synapomorphy for Andrioplecta + Strophedra, but the character state is widespread in many species of Grapholita, Pammene and others.…”

“…0.63 length of forewing; M-stem well developed; chorda absent; CuA 2 originating ca. 0.75 length of discal cell; male without forewing costal fold; hindwing with Rs and M 1 originating distant from each other, CuA 1 and M 3 short-stalked; male frenulum with one bristle, female with three (as in most other Enarmoniini; see Rota et al 2009). Abdomen: Unmodified, lacking conspicuous secondary scales.…”
