Various Approaches to the Aggregation of Economic Productivity Indices

Abstract: This paper discusses the aggregation of economic productivity indices, in particular Caves, Christensen and Diewert and Moorsteen-Bjurek indices. As part of the theory, some proposals developed in a number of recent papers (co-) authored by Valentin Zelenyuk are put into context. Alternatives are offered which at the same time show that meaningful aggregation is not so simple.
