Abstract:Khukhmorit soum is situated on the south of Ikh Mongol sand, therefore, over half of the surface area is covered by the sand. In recent years, the sand movement has been expanding to the settled areas and pastureland as a result of increasing bare sand and lack of vegetation cover due to climate change and human activities, especially overgrazing and shrub logging for fuel.
