Abstract:This paper presents the concept study and key experimental results of a vehicle microwave radar system for 2D and 3D environment mapping. The system is realized by combination of a wideband FMCW radar sensor with a rotational mirror system to obtain the surrounding geometries. Key design considerations and experiment results were discussed and presented. The system can be used for many automotive and robotic routing applications, and can be further combined with other sensors for data fusion.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
