Abstract

Learning Objectives: After reading this article, the participant should be able to: Recall the efficacy of various treatment modalities for vein of Galen malformations (VGMs). 2. Describe the prognosis and complications related to treatment of VGMs based on patient age and lesion subtype. 3. Explain prenatal diagnosis of lesions prenatally and risk assessment for neonatal mortality on the basis of prognostic factors. 4. Describe the nuances and challenges related to use of anesthesia in pediatric patients with VGMs.
