“…In our study, 3 patients survived an episode of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest with documented VF, the remaining patients presented with recurrent syncope. Transient or nonsustained VF may be the reason for presentation with syncope [9, 10, 11, 12]. In a review of 163 cases, men (n = 150) far outnumbered women (n = 13) and 58% of patients were of Asian ancestry [13].…”

“…Spontaneous termination of VF has been documented in a 62-year-old woman following an acute postero-lateral myocardial infarction 41, a 67-year-old woman with a syncopal episode after awakening from sleep 42, and a 21-year-old woman during exertion at night 43, although CAS was not documented in those reports. In a study of VF episodes in patients with implantable cardioverter defibrillators 44, 43% were asymptomatic and 40% were nonsustained episodes.…”

“…Spontaneous rhythm conversion has been described in both healthy adults (229,230) CIRC patients could receive amiodarone, lidocaine, atropine, bicarbonate, adrenaline and/or vasopressin based on EMS sites and their routines. (168) Although drug use was noted in the case report forms, the timing of drug delivery was not noted, and we do therefore not know if drugs were administrated in association with these episodes with rhythm conversion.…”
