Identification of Vibrio Cholerae in the Port of the City of Rio De Janeiro: A Contribution to the Problem of Ballast Water and the Possible Interaction With Human Health

Surface sampling of port waters was carried out with the aim of identifying the presence of V. cholerae and characterizing the physical-chemical conditions present at the site, observing whether the standards previously established at the study site, by Silva et al (2015) and Silva et al (2019), remained. Therefore, based on the aforementioned studies, an annual period which presents more favorable conditions for the organism's survival in the environment was selected to carry out the sampling campaign, as well as the proximity of some collection points used in the aforementioned studies, thus obtaining a temporal comparison of the results.…”
