Vicarious trauma: A covert threat?

Abstract

This article discusses vicarious traumatisation and its relevance to psychologists. Psychologists are encouraged to acknowledge the ‘human side’ of being a therapist and use their skills and positions to create work environments which protect themselves and their colleagues from vicarious trauma.
