Abstract:Instrumented indentation has become an indispensable tool for quantitative analysis of the mechanical properties of soft polymers and biological samples at different length scales. These types of samples are known for their prominent viscoelastic behavior, and attempts to calculate such properties from the indentation data are constantly made. The simplest indentation experiment presents a cycle of approach (deepening into the sample) and retraction of the indenter, with the output of the force and indentation… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
