Abstract:Iron‐(hydro)oxide formation in subterranean estuaries is visualised in a sand tank experiment. The so‐called ‘iron curtain’ forms at the interfaces where anoxic, iron (II)‐rich groundwater mixes with circulating oxic seawater.
