Abstract:Producing volatile fatty acids (VFAs) in anaerobic digestion (AD) is of strong interest because of VFAs' potential values in biomanufacturing. Despite some success of VFA production via pretreatment, in situ inhibition of methanogens for VFA accumulation has yet to be explored.
