“…The recovered dB/dt and conductivity model was reviewed and compared with the known geology and identified Cu, Zn and Pb ore bodies C1-C4 (Couto Jr., 2017) and local high-resolution inversions were performed with cell size in X = 10m and Y=50m for those polygons (Figure 5). For C1, C2 and C3 the targets have a strong agreement with the CPRM report (Figure 6) and with the previous modelling of the conductors using plates (Figure 7) while the C4 model shows a result compatible with the description of disseminated pyrrotite (Couto Jr. et al, 2017) and cannot be analyzed using the same parameters as the other identified orebodies (Figure 8). including the C1, C2 and C3 orebodies already studied (Figure 9).…”

“…and Votorantim Metais and executed by Microsurvey (Votorantim, 2008). The survey location is indicated in Figure 1 (Couto Jr. et al, 2017). The survey is E-W oriented, with flight-lines spaced by 250 m (tie lines in the N-S direction, spaced by 2500 m), 80 km/h speed acquisition and 58 m terrain clearance for the VTEM system.…”

“…Three sets of data were acquired in the same spatial positions due to the difficult access and crossing of the banks of the Vermelho River (Figure 3A). The SW-NE survey line was positioned perpendicularly to the main direction of the regional geological structures to reduce the effects of threedimensional structures that cannot be accurately modeled via 2D inversions, thus causing distortions in the electrical resistivity models [29,[42][43][44].…”

“…In Brazil, the records of VMS-type deposits are scarce [22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29], possibly due to the lack of detailed geological mapping and geophysical surveys in areas with geological potential for these deposits to occur.…”

“…The TEM method or Time Domain Electromagnetic (TDEM) method is an inductive electromagnetic (EM) method used to map the electrical conductivity (or resistivity) contrast in subsurface. The method is quite versatile and finds applications in the mineral exploration (Oliveira, 2014;Couto et al, 2016;Viezzoli et al, 2016;Couto et al, 2017b;Oliveira, 2020), hydrogeology investigation (Danielsen, et al, 2002;Porsani et al, 2012aPorsani et al, , 2012bBortolozo et al, 2014;Bortolozo et al, 2015;Almeida, et al, 2017;Campaña, et al, 2017;Hamada, et al, 2018;Leite, et al, 2018;Rangel, et al, 2018).The TEM methodology was developed in face of the difficulties in the applications of the Frequency Domain Electromagnetic (FDEM) method, which the induction of the EM field in subsurface (secondary field) is generated through an alternate current (AC) within a transmitter loop (Tx) on surface and the secondary field is measured through a receiver coil (Rx) still in the presence of the primary field generated by the current in Tx (Figure 3. 1-a).…”
