Abstract:Wall proximity affects the accuracy of pressure probe measurements with a particularly strong impact on multi-hole probes. The wall-related evolution of the calibration of two hemispheric L-shaped 3D-printed five-hole probes was investigated in a low-speed wind tunnel. Pressure measurements and 2D particle image velocimetry were performed. The wall proximity causes the probe to measure a flow diverging from the wall, whereas the boundary layer causes the probe to measure a velocity directed towards the wall. B… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
