Climate change issues pose complex social and ecological challenges to rural communities in East Luwu Regency, Indonesia. This can be overcome through a collaborative, sustainable, and distributed innovation process for regional resilience and independence in each innovation sector. This study examines the concept of rural living as an inter-organizational interaction design and the process of developing sustainable rural innovation, where multi-stakeholder interaction forms the Quintuple Helix innovation model through a multidimensional case study design that focuses on the concept of innovation participation, knowledge production, innovation ecosystem as a social subsystem system, and socioecological transition toward developing independent rural areas, sustainability of rural innovation programs, and disaster preparedness in East Luwu Regency. This research method is qualitative-explorative with a case study approach exploring the social and ecological systems of rural communities in East Luwu Regency, Indonesia to provide a deeper understanding of the rural innovation process to address socio-ecological challenges through the importance of government-public-private-university synergy and its context in the Magani and Sorowako Villages, East Luwu Regency. The results of this study indicate that the strength of the innovation driver resulting from the cooperation between the East Luwu Government and PT Vale Tbk is the key to the sustainability of village innovations that encourage village innovation and village community participation in the village innovation process so that it has an impact on village community independence and environmental sustainability in East Luwu Regency. However, village innovation in East Luwu Regency still needs to be improved in terms of communication and coordination between actors and sectors.

This study discussed the escalation of healthy environmental policies by parties such as environmental organizations and the government. We designed this research in a qualitative descriptive manner where we extracted information from several sources. Then we researched it until we got an answer to finish the discussion. We examine this study under a phenomenological approach. Likewise, data analysis involves data coding, high evaluation, in-depth interpretation, and data organization. After discussing the results, we conclude, among others, that the best practices for accelerating healthy environmental policies by the government and other organizations in the country have helped publicize the government's commitment to maintaining a healthy environment, including conducting seminars, workshops by related organizations, supporting symposiums organized by the government. Other best practices are the healthy living community movement driven by the private sector and the environmental love movement to save the earth is also carried out by various non-governmental organizations, all of which want to encourage the acceleration of policies and Implementation of maintaining a healthy environment in Indonesia. It is hoped that these results will be helpful in future similar studies.

Sukolilo District has 115,855 inhabitants with a population density of 4,897 inhabitants/square kilometers. The increase of population simultaneously increase the rate of waste generation. The increase in the rate of waste generation affects waste collection. Thus, optimization of waste management in operational, technical, and community participation aspects in Sukolilo District, Surabaya City, is needed. The optimization of waste management require to forecast the population, the amount of waste generation, and its effect on the number of waste transportation fleets in the next 10 years. Therefore, this research presented the data in order to solve the issue of waste management. This research is convenienly offered to be one of the major consideration for the Sukolilo District Government in accordance with the waste management issue. Field surveys were conducted to collect data on population, waste generation, and the condition of the waste fleet. Then, the data was analyzed with linear regression model to estimate the total waste generation and waste fleet. The projected population growth in 2030 is 146,054 people. The calculation of the amount of waste generation based on the formula from the Indonesian Ministry of Environment Regulation in 2030 is 26,655 tons/year. Meanwhile based the result of this study, the simple linear regression equation in 2030 is 65,442 tons/year. The increase in waste generation from 2021 to 2030 reached 35,041 tons, with a percentage of 115%. Thus, that, the calculation of the waste fleet requirements for the next 10 years is 40 waste container tanks and 20 arm roll trucks. Population growth in Sukolilo District is in line with the total amount of waste generation. Therefore, it is necessary to add a waste fleet at that location in the next 10 years. The authors suggest that improving the quality and the quantity of the waste fleet is indeed recommended.
