Water Wave Interaction by Dual Cylindrical Cylinders with Partial Porous Area

Abstract: Abstract-In the present study, the 3D numerical analysis method is developed with Eigenfunction expansion method to evaluate the wave forces acting on the array of dual cylindrical cylinders with partial porous area, which consist of an impermeable inner cylinder and a porous outer cylinder. The wave forces and water wave interaction on dual cylindrical cylinders with partial porous area are presented for various porosity depths, and the comparison between the impermeable cylinder and the permeable cylinder is… Show more

“…In order to consider the scattering between the cages, Graf's addition theorem has been employed. This theorem forms the basis of modeling the wave scattering from multiple floating structures (Kagemoto and Yue, 1986;Park et al, 2012Park et al, , 2017Zheng et al, 2020c;Zheng et al, 2020a). Quantities like power dissipation, the reflected and transmitted wave amplitudes at the far-field are analyzed in the present study to investigate the use of multiple fishing cages as a breakwater.…”

“…The wave interaction with a group of dual porous cylinders consisting of an outer porous cylinder that protects an impermeable inner cylinder is investigated using the eigenfunction expansion approach by Sankarbabu et al [16]. Using the 3D numerical analysis method and eigenfunction expansion method, Park et al [17] evaluated the wave forces acting on the array of dual cylindrical cylinders with partial porous area, which consist of an impermeable inner cylinder and a porous outer cylinder. Dokken et al [18,19]performed a mathematical analysis of the linear wave diffraction-radiation problem of a porous geometry localized in the surface of a inviscid fluid.…”
