Waterborne polymer modified with zeolite for environment‐friendly slow‐release coated urea

Abstract: In order to improve the slow‐release effectiveness of waterborne polymer coated fertilizers, an environment‐friendly coated urea was developed by zeolite and waterborne polymer of starch soluble, polyvinyl alcohol, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, and chitosan. The properties of different mesh and content of zeolite on the membranes and the slow‐release property of coated urea were investigated. Zeolite decreased water vapor, ammonium permeability and porosity of waterborne polymer with an increased ammonium ad… Show more

“…With the increasing severity of environmental problems and the enhancement of environmental awareness, waterborne coatings have gained increasing attention in a broad range of applications including metal protection, wood decoration or building surface due to the lower release of volatile organic compounds. [1][2][3][4][5] Waterborne polyurethane (WPU) and waterborne polyacrylate (WPA) are two kinds of resins commonly used in waterborne coatings. [6][7][8] WPU has excellent adhesion, elasticity, cold resistance, high glossiness, and other characteristics, but the water resistance, weather resistance and aging resistance of a single WPU film is relatively poor and relatively high cost.…”
