“…This may be caused by a small sample size or higher myopia treated (n Z 22 eyes, mean SE ÿ7.30 D). Using the same platform, Kanjani et al 5 found slightly lower efficacy (69.93%) but similar predictability (79.92% within G0.5 D) in a retrospective study of 150 eyes with a 6-month follow-up. Cosar et al 6 noted slightly lower predictability (70.8% within G0.5 D) at 3 months in a retrospective study of 24 eyes.…”

“…Various modalities have been used to overcome cyclorotation and misalignment and to improve the astigmatic error correction. 2,3,4,[18][19][20] Preoperative marking of the upright patient and subsequent rotational alignment in the supine position before laser treatment may reduce SIA 11,18 ; however, use of an in Table 2B. Postoperative residual sphere and cylinder in the iris recognition group (n Z 100) and control group (n Z 98).…”

“…The iris recognition system of the Zyoptix laser uses software that captures the image of the eye; transforms the iris structures into a digital key, generating a unique digital ''ZY-ID'' for each patient; and stores the information as well as other diagnostic data. 3,7,18 The data are used to automatically correct cyclotorsion and pupilshift information in the diagnostic phase. 12,22 The system has an x, y, and z component based on infrared painting of pupil-edge markers triangulated with the center of the defined pupil, enabling greater accuracy of the laser ablation in the treatment phase.…”

“…[40][41][42][43][44][45] This type of treatment partially reduces HOAs and minimizes the induction of new aberrations. In addition, total wavefront-guided ablations have been shown to be safe and effective in the correction of low to moderate levels of HOAs, providing only partial reduction in cases with more extreme aberrations.…”
