Abstract

Everyone has their fair share of love-hate relationships with technology. Everyone is familiar with the scenario of spending hours trying to contact service providers to resolve an issue, and having to go through a series of automated systems before finding the right contact. On the other hand, technology allows us to build and maintain relationships around the world.We love technology when it makes our lives easier, but we hate it when it fails to do its job or to remember that we are human.But to what extent does our dual characterisation of technology permeate research? Do researchers also forget that our respondents are humans too?
