Web-GIS based Dashboard for Real-Time Data Visualization & Analysis using Open Source Technologies

Abstract: Real-time visualization is the requirement for immediacy of decision making, which tends to be role-based. Using maps to visualize data can enable quicker interpretation of complex geographical phenomena, identify patterns, and aid in planning, resource allocations for policy and decision making.  In present study, an interactive Web GIS Dashboard is developed with the objectives to display the work progress of Department of Soil & Water Conservation. The data includes activities and schemes undergoing in … Show more

“…This study used the waterfall method by using WebGIS to identify religious tourism objects in the research location. The waterfall method has several stages, which will be discussed one by one in previous research [37]- [39]. The waterfall model employs a systematic and sequential approach because a stage can only be executed once the preceding stages have been finalized.…”

“…Our Web GIS created with the R program mapped the species distributions in SAC-MN in a simple and effective way. Web GIS has emerged as a powerful tool in recent years for visualizing species distributions, with a growing body of research highlighting its potential 41 . It is a user-friendly and accessible alternative to traditional GIS, allowing easy access through a standard web browser 42,43,44 .…”

“…Among the outputs produced in previous research, there are a tables and graphs of the calculation results of fish density distribution estimates per depth, and fish density maps based on depth and time. The complexity of visualization of analysis result that is tied to spatial information can be circumvented by Geographic Information System, namely in the form of a GIS-Dashboard [12]. A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer-based system or technology built to collect, store, process, analyse, and present information from an object or phenomenon related to its location or existence on the Earth's surface [13].…”
