Well Test Analysis for Fractured and Vuggy Carbonate Reservoirs of Well Drilling in Large Scale Cave

Abstract: Abstract:A well test analysis model for fractured and vuggy carbonate reservoir of wells drilling in large scale cave considering wellbore storage and skin factor is established in this paper. The Laplace transformation and Stehfest numerical inversion are applied to obtain the results of wellbore pressure. Through the sensitivity analysis of different parameters for the well test typical curves, it is found that the change of the well test curves is in accordance with the theoretical analysis. With the increa… Show more

“…Another very commonly used model for fluid flow description in fractured-caved reservoirs is the radial-composite model, which is proposed for studying the pressure behavior in a composite reservoir with two adjacent concentric zones of different permeability (Loucks and Guerrero, 1961;Yao et al, 2016). Reservoir engineers prefer the radialcomposite model for two reasons (Xing et al, 2018). First, if the well is drilled in a large-scale cavity, the cavity can be seen as the inner zone with high permeability.…”

“…Zhao Yanyan et al [5,6] established a model for oil well production during the elastic development of fracture cave systems, indicating that the elastic energy of natural fracture cave systems has a significant impact on oil well production. Cui Chuanzhi et al [7][8][9] established a non-stationary composite production model for fractured carbonate reservoirs based on the geological characteristics of fractured carbonate reservoirs but did not consider the influence of starting pressure gradient. Fracturing is an effective technique for improving the production of fractured and vuggy carbonate reservoirs.…”

“…However, in the process of gas testing, the quality of the test results will be different due to different construction equipment and gas test methods. The quality of the test results will directly affect the qualitative judgment of the fluid properties [49,50]. It will cause great difficulties in the evaluation of the logging gas-bearing property in combination with the actual interval.…”
