“…The Mini-MegaTORTORA (MMT-9) is a 9channel monitoring system with near 900 square degrees field and a temporal resolution of 0.1 seconds, the magnitude limit down to m V = 11 for stars, and 16 ′′ pixel size (Beskin et al 2013(Beskin et al , 2014(Beskin et al , 2017Karpov et al 2017a). It is in operation at Special Astrophysical Observatory, Russia, since mid-2014, and now continuously monitors the sky looking for fast optical transients of various nature, from artificial satellites (Karpov et al 2016a) to gamma-ray bursts (Karpov et al 2017b).…”

“…In this regard, we also present here (Beskin et al, this issue) one of the ideas for the upgrade. The idea has already been introduced by some of the authors of this paper in [31] within the framework of the SAINT photometric project. We are sure that the upgrade of the wide-field observing facilities as proposed by the SAINT will fundamentally magnify the scientific output of the EXPLANATION project.…”

“…It is all the more important to look for signatures of similar phenomena in the optical range using wide-angle monitoring of high temporal resolution. Based on the above considerations, and on the experience of developing and using the FAVOR, TORTORA, Mini-MegaTORTORA tools, we proposed the concept of a multi-telescope complex with high temporal resolution for wide-angle monitoring of the celestial sphere-SAINT (Small Aperture Imaging Network Telescope) [62,[66][67][68] using telescopes with a diameter of 30-50 cm, with the limiting magnitude at the level of single-component instruments (see Figure 1 and Table A1 in the Appendix A) and capable of detecting and investigating non-stationary objects at times from milliseconds to months-years. This paper is devoted to the development of this project using modern devices, the choice of the design of the complex, its components, mode of operation, and the assessment of its parameters.…”
