Wiggins Content Scales and the MMPI-2

Abstract: SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONSThe present paper has presented results on the use of a newly developed MMPI scale (Pan) for the detection of patients with panic disorder in samples of psychiatric and cardiology patients. The results suggest that the Pan scale may have utility in screening and selection procedures to rule out the presence of panic disorder, but may prove to have too high an error rate for ruling in the disorder.
