Wigner distributions for gluons in a light-front dressed quark model

Abstract: We present a calculation of Wigner distributions for gluons in light-front dressed quark model. We calculate the kinetic and canonical gluon orbital angular momentum and spin-orbit correlation of the gluons in this model.

“…The convergence was improved, and the regulator dependence was removed in the quark Wigner distributions in [42] and transverse polarization was included. Here we continue our study and calculate the gluon Wigner distributions, using improved numerical convergence, and remove the regulator dependence present in the earlier work [41]. We also include transverse and linear polarization in the study of gluon Wigner distributions at leading twist.…”

“…The possibility to probe the gluon Wigner distribution and gluon orbital angular momentum at the future electron-ion collider was studied in [39]. In [40,41] we investigated the quark and gluon Wigner distributions and OAM for a simple composite spin-1 2 target state, namely for a quark dressed with a gluon at one loop in QCD. This may be considered as a field theory inspired perturbative model having a gluonic degree of freedom.…”

“…Angular momentum of a quark is extracted from Wigner distributions taking the phase space average. The Wigner distributions have been studied in different models e.g., in lightcone constituent quark model [7][8][9][10], in chiral soliton model [8,11,12], light front dressed quark model [13][14][15], lightcone spectator model [16], light-cone quark-scalar-diquark model [17].…”

“…However, recent theoretical developments [83,84] and encouraging results [146] in the framework of large-momentum effective field theory (LaMET) [77] open the interesting possibility of computing GTMDs and OAM directly on the lattice, see section 5.2. Moreover, effective models, constrained by experimental data, also provide indirect access to GTMDs and OAM [117,122,85,134,135,109].…”
