WITHDRAWN: Evaluation of Surface Roughness and Color Changes of Restorative Materials Used with Different Polishing Procedures in Pediatric Dentistry

Abstract: Aim: It was aimed to evaluate the color stability and surface roughness properties of 4 different restorative materials used in pediatric dentistry clinics as a result of 4 different polishing procedures. Background and Design: A total of 128 samples, 32 from each restorative material, were prepared by placing each material in 6 mm diameter, 2 mm high polyethylene molds to be polished with 4 different polishing procedures (n=8). Then, color stability and surface roughness measurements of the samples were made… Show more

“…The ingredients used in drug formulations in the form of syrup/liquid include sugars, acids, buffering agents, and coloring agents in the form of oil and/or water-soluble agents. In addition, the long-term use of these drugs may cause adverse effects such as erosion, internal/external staining on tooth surfaces, and surface degradation of dental restorations due to their endogenous pH and high titratable acidity [1,20,22,23]. The surface roughness and color stability in restorative materials used in pediatric dentistry are essential to increase the longevity of the restoration and to maintain children's oral health.…”
