Working in the Air: Time Management and Work Intensification Challenges for Workers in Commercial Aviation

Abstract: In the air transport sector, the work of flight attendants is characterised by the diversity of their temporalities and working hours. The constraints of working time have impacts on the organization of other activities and social times of the staff. “…La situation est particulièrement préoccupante en ce qui concerne les professionnels de la santé et sécurité ; une étude récente auprès de gestionnaires et d'ingénieurs de la sécurité de divers secteurs montre l'influence négative de l'intensification du travail sur la propension de ces professionnels à respecter les normes de sécurité et à adopter des comportements sécuritaires (Bunner et collab., 2018).
