Abstract. The Fibaro is a system for automation of smart households, which ensures not only the functions of comfort and power saving, but it also offers the security functions. These security functions were checked and examined in this paper from several perspectives. The evaluation of two submitted model realizations of Intruder and Hold-Up Alarm Systems (I&HAS) with using of the Fibaro system was presented: the Proprietary model, which works with manufacturers' detectors, and the Integration model including the standard loop I&HAS to the Fibaro system. These comfort functions were examined in this paper from the point of view of the functional safety and fulfillment of the normative requirements for the I&HAS. The examination of functional reliability consisted of verification of the ability of the control unit to correctly respond to changes in detection conditions inducted through the relevant sensor. The functional tests were conducted in several steps. Thanks to the functional tests the unreliability of the control unit Fibaro HC Lite to register a larger number of detection messages had to be confirmed. The result of this work was the demonstration of inappropriateness of utilisation of installations according to the Proprietary model. Simultaneously the Integration model was evaluated from a point of view of valid norms with assigning of the first security level, however, the conditions unaffected the I&HAS.

Abstract:The proposed research methodology aims to design a generally implementable framework for providing a house owner/member with the immediate notification of an on-going theft (unauthorized access to their premises). For this purpose, a rigorous analysis of existing systems was undertaken to identify research gaps. The problems found with existing systems were that they can only identify the intruder after the theft, or cannot distinguish between human and non-human objects. Wireless Sensors Networks (WSNs) combined with the use of Internet of Things (IoT), Cognitive Internet of Things, Internet of Medical Things, and Cloud Computing are expanding smart home concepts and solutions, and their applications. The primary objective of the present research work was to design and develop IoT and cloud computing based smart home solutions. In addition, we also propose a novel smart home anti-theft system that can detect an intruder, even if they have partially/fully hidden their face using clothing, leather, fiber, or plastic materials. The proposed system can also detect an intruder in the dark using a CCTV camera without night vision facility. The fundamental idea was to design a cost-effective and efficient system for an individual to be able to detect any kind of theft in real-time and provide instant notification of the theft to the house owner. The system also promises to implement home security with large video data handling in real-time.

With the rapid technological developments of sensors, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have become the main technology for IoT (1) , which means Internet of Things. Nowadays, the wireless network is used more wildly in different places for its low-cost and easy-setup compared to the wired network, resulting in more and more applications of WSN in various fields. For studying of the WSN and applying it into my research, this paper briefly gives the concept of WSN and a review of WSN applications.
