Yagya Therapy as supportive care in cancer patients improved quality of life: Case studies

Sub-clinical hypothyroidism (SCH) is a condition in which Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) levels are increased, Thyroxine (T4) level is normal to low, and Triiodothyronine (T3) level is normal. Daily use of the synthetic thyroid hormone such as levothyroxine has been a standard approach to SCH. However, most modern approaches are unable to revert the condition to its normal level. Traditional approaches such as Yagya-Therapy can be an effective option in this regard. Yagya-Therapy provides pulmonary inhalation of medicinal-smoke of multiple herbs (generated through oblation in fire along with chanting of Vedic hymns), which have the potential for hormonal balance A case study is being reported wherein a patient (Male/60 years), who had been suffering from SCH since past 2 years and 4 months (pre-data), had been continuously taking allopathic medication for SCH, B12 complex and high blood pressure, and all this time TSH never became normal. The patient continued with the aforesaid medication, and took Yagya-Therapy for 3 months as an add-on therapy. Subsequently, after 4 months of completing Yagya-Therapy, post-data was recorded. Before Yagya-Therapy, TSH levels were very high, i.e. 4.79-11.82 µ/ml, which became normal (3.0 µ/ml) after the Yagya-Therapy. The earlier low levels of B12 (238-326 pg/ml) also increased to the upper side of the normal range (1034 pg/ml). Patient's other complaints such as tiredness, weakness, sleep issues were also resolved completely. Thus, the present study indicates the effectiveness of Yagya-Therapy in the treatment of SCH.

Yagya with Gayatri Mantra results in higher seed germination and seedling growth of Tritieum aestivm (wheat)

The present study records the effect of traditional Vedic Yagya on germination and consequent development of wheat seeds and seedlings. Two sets of studies on the seeds were conducted simultaneously. In one study, one set of wheat seeds were exposed to the Yagya procedure. The other set of wheat seeds was exposed to normal conditions of growth and smoke from regular mango (mangifera indica) wood smoke in an adjacent chamber. The seeds were thus treated for 4 days and on 6 th day seed germination was recorded. The germination rate index was 85.08% in seeds that were exposed to Yagya fumes as compared to 48.15% in seeds that were not. The coefficient of velocity of germination was 77.021% and 36.076% in seeds kept in the presence and absence of Yagya respectively. The mean germination time has been reported to be 1.29 days in the seeds that were exposed to Yagya fumes and 2.77 days in seeds that were exposed to normal mango wood fumes minus any yagya processes. In the other study, seeds were first germinated in the presence of Yagya procedure and then exposed further in the presence and absence of Yagya to observe the effect on seedling development. The growth of root length and shoot length were 11.875 cm and 11.762 cm respectively in the pregerminated seeds which were kept in presence of Yagya while the growth of root and shoot length were 8.352 cm and 7.904 cm respectively in the pregerminated seeds that kept in absence of Yagya. The study found that the presence of Yagya had a significant impact both on the wheat seed germination and seedling development.

An Integrated Traditional Therapy Approach Involving Yagya Therapy In Patient With Symptoms Similar to Crohn's Disease

Background: Crohn’s disease (an inflammatory bowel disease - IBD) is a chronic gastrointestinal inflammatory disorder. Common symptoms include rectal bleeding, persistent diarrhea, abdominal pain, extreme fatigue, weight loss, constipation, etc. Although it is a widespread disease, its etiology and mechanism are still not properly understood. Hence, even though several treatment methodologies have been employed for the management of the symptoms associated with the Crohn's disease - side-effect free, long-term management of this disease is still not achieved. Purpose: As per the classical texts of Ayurveda, Pachak Pitta, Saman Vayu and Kledak Kapha are responsible for proper digestion; vikriti (vitiation) of these Doshas can lead to various types of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Hence, herbal medicines that balance these Doshas, as well as provide nourishment to the body tissues, can be recommended for the management of the observed symptoms of the disease in the present study. Yagya Therapy provides pulmonary inhalation of medicinal smoke of multiple herbs (generated through oblation in fire along with chanting of Vedic hymns), which provide therapeutic benefits. The Vedic hymns also contribute to the positive restructuring of the psyche of the patient. Methodology: A case report about a male patient, who was suffering from symptoms similar to those found in Crohn's disease, has been presented in this article. The patient was prescribed an integrated approach pivoting on Yagya Therapy (using an appropriate herbal formulation - hawan-samagri), and some other Ayurvedic treatments like decoction of medicinal herbs, dietary restrictions, etc. Results: Before starting the integrated approach involving Yagya Therapy , the patient used to have severe pain in the abdomen, had swelling and stiffness in legs, had constipation, as well as weight loss; after taking the integrated approach involving Yagya Therapy , there was significant relief in the pain, the swelling in the legs was completely resolved, the stiffness in the legs had reduced, constipation was significantly reduced, as well as there was slight increase in weight. Earlier, because of weakness, the patient had difficulty in walking, changing posture from sitting to standing and vice versa, changing side while lying down; after taking the integrated approach, the patient feels an enhanced strength in his legs, has started walking on his own, can change posture from sitting to standing and vice versa on his own, can change side while lying down on his own. Overall, there was definite improvement in the condition of the patient. Conclusion: The integrated approach involving Yagya Therapy showed encouraging results with respect to the management of symptoms similar to those found in Crohn's disease.
