Abstract:This entry reviews the structure, function and clinical significance of YEATS4, a gene originally identified from an amplicon on 12p15 found in a glioblastoma cell line and originally named gliomaamplified sequence (GAS41). The gene is amplified in several other cancers and translocations or rearrangements of chromosome 12 with breakpoints in YEATS4 are noted in such cancers as glioblastoma, lung cancer and soft tissue sarcomas.
