Yield gap associated with crop management in wheat (Case study: Ardabil province-Parsabad Moghan)

Abstract: T O INVESTIGATE the factors affecting irrigated wheat yield loss, compared to the attainable yield, a non systematic survey experiment was conducted in 60 fields in the city of Parsabad-Moghan, during two years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 using Comparative Performance Analysis (CPA). Sampling of wheat fields was performed randomly from 5 different points of each farm using a square meter. All the information about management operations, soil and crop characteristics including seed bed preparation, planting date, v… Show more

“…The more vigorous cultivars have longer days, but the less vegetative and early maturing varieties hasten the grain filling process. In accordance with this, other researcher investigated that there is a substantial variation in the duration of the grain filling phase between two wheat crop varieties shows significant difference (Shirinzadeh, 2017).…”

“…Accordingly, the number of seed affected as an increase in temperature above the optimum, resulting in floret abortion in lately sown wheat crops (El-Saragand Ismaeil, 2013). Additionally the number of seeds per spike increased linearly as the amount of spike dry matter increased during pollen transfer between male and female reproduction (Shirinzadeh et al, 2017).…”

One possible factor contributing to the differences in optimal sowing dates between seasons is temperature fluctuations.…”
