Abstract:<p>We propose a complete system to enable progressive coding with quality scalability of the mesh geometry, in MPEG’s state-of-the-art Video-based Dynamic Mesh Coding (V-DMC) framework. In particular, we propose an alternative method for encoding the subdivision wavelet coefficients in V-DMC, using a mesh-based zerotree coding approach. The proposed method works directly in the native 3D mesh space. It allows us to identify parent-child relationships amongst the wavelet coefficients across different subd… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
