Abstract:Thiolactones have been extensively studied as efficient ligation strategy, yet, their reactivity towards bio-based building blocks remains limited. In this manuscript, we present their more reactive successors, iminiumthiolactones (ITL), which show superior reactivity towards amine-containing substrates. Based on the Traut’s reagent we synthesized several ITLs from glycidol precursors and investigated several orthogonal modification reactions. After performing basic calculations on our substrates to substantia… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
