Among patients with unstable angina or myocardial infarction without ST-segment elevation, prasugrel did not significantly reduce the frequency of the primary end point, as compared with clopidogrel, and similar risks of bleeding were observed. Treatment with 1 mg. finasteride daily for 48 weeks did not affect spermatogenesis or semen production in young men. The effects of 1 mg. finasteride daily on prostate volume and serum PSA in young men without benign prostatic hyperplasia were small and reversible on discontinuation of the drug.

At 4 years the freedom from PSA failure following radiotherapy for high grade prostate cancer was comparable to previously reported surgical series. The high failure rate among patients with PSA greater than 20 ng./ml. suggests that these patients should be considered for investigational approaches. The apparent improvement in freedom from progression with the use of higher doses provides reason for optimism.
