1. Collected Information

We also allow users to create an account by logging in through certain third-party authentication platforms (e.g., MS Azure, ORCiD, Google, Facebook). If you do so, information like your name, email address, language preference and other information may be shared with us through the authentication platform.
  • Financial and Commercial Information. We may collect payment details (payment card or bank account details) and order history.
  • Professional or Employment-Related Information. We may collect information relating to your professional background, such as the name of your employer, title, and business contact details.
  • Communications with Us. If you contact us (such as through email or the chat function of our Site), we collect any personal information you share with us in the communication. We may also ask users to complete surveys about our Service or other topics. If you complete a survey, we collect your survey responses.
  • User-generated Content. Certain features of the Service may allow you to post content, such as education and background information, a profile picture, a list of publications you have authored, and comments. We collect content that you submit to the Service.
  • Authorship Information. Our Service provides information about academic, scientific and other publications and we collect information about these publications such as the name of the author, the name of the work, and the date of publication.
  • Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity Information. We may collect information concerning your interaction with the Service, including when you access the Service, searches you run through the Service, and your browsing activity (such as which pages you visit, in what order, and for how long).

Some of the personal information we collect may qualify as “Sensitive Personal Information” in some jurisdictions. In particular, Sensitive Personal Information includes payment details. We only collect payment details to: provide our Service to you, ensure the security and integrity of the payment process and our systems, undertake activities to verify or maintain the quality or safety of our Service, detect, prevent and investigate security incident and other malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal actions, and ensure the physical safety of natural persons.

Information gathered through these technologies are shared with advertising networks to serve online advertising regarding our products and services to you after you use the Service. This information may also be used by advertising networks to provide you with advertisements that these third parties believe may be relevant to you.
  • Advisers, Auditors, and Financial Institutions, including, notaries, business continuity support service providers, and legal, tax, and risk and compliance advisers.
  • Government Bodies, Dispute Resolution Organizations, and Third Parties. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. 7. Your Privacy Choices. Please note that while changes to your profile information are reflected promptly in active user databases, our servers may retain previously provided information.

If you no longer want to receive our newsletter, emails or other marketing communications, you may unsubscribe at any time by following the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our emails, or by writing to us at customersupport@researchsolutions.com. Please note that you cannot unsubscribe from certain correspondence from us, including messages relating directly to your account or orders placed through the Service.

8. Security. We maintain reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse, alteration, or unintentional destruction. Exercising Your Right to Access, Correction, or Deletion

Once we receive a request, we will take steps to verify your request. We will ask for information that is reasonable in light of the nature of your request.

Sale of Personal Information

Scite does not sell or disclose personal information in exchange for money. However, Scite uses cookies and similar technologies to analyze Site usage and assist in marketing efforts (including targeted advertising). In some cases, sharing for these purposes may be considered a “sale” under California law. California law defines “sale” broadly to include any disclosure of information in return for any value. The value does not need to be monetary like in a traditional sale.

Retention of Your Personal Information We typically retain personal information related to marketing activities for as long as you accept marketing communications from us, and no longer than 10 years from your last contact with us, and related to your account for as long as you have an account with us in order to meet our contractual obligations to you and for 10 years after that.
