Serous retinal detachment is an unusual cause of visual loss in preeclampsia. We report the case of 24-years-old primipara with severe preeclampsia who developed bilateral serous retinal detachment a few hours after delivery. A few weeks after delivery there was spontaneous resorption of the subretinal fluid and complete resolution bilateral serous retinal detachment, with residual pigmentary changes of the retinal pigment epithelium. Visual acuity was normal in each eye. The management of retinal detachment as a complication in preeclampsia is conservative and the prognosis is usually good.
Pseudoexfoliation syndrome is an age related disorder, characterized by abnormal fibrous fiber production and accumulation in different visceral organs as well as in the eye and periocular tissues. Hystological examination recorded the presence of the pseudoexfoliation in the TEAR FILM STABILITY IN PATIENTS WITH PSEUDEXFOLIATION
Introduction/Objective Vitreal hemorrhage is one of the possible complications of diabetic retinopathy, followed by intensive decrease of visual acuity. Corticosteroids are commonly used in treatment of different retinal diseases, due to their anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenetic effect. Triamcinolone acetonide applied intravitreally remains in the eye for several months, releases its crystals, and decreases the density of vitreal hemorrhage. The main goal of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of 20 mg intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide for the management of long-lasting vitreal hemorrhage, occurred as a complication of proliferative diabetic retinopathy in non-vitrectomized eyes. Methods In a prospective study performed between January 1, 2015 and January 1, 2016, 24 patients with vitreal hemorrhage who received intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide were compared to 21 patients from the control group. The control group consisted of patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy and similar degree of vitreal hemorrhage. All the patients underwent an ophthalmological examination at the beginning of the study, seven days, one, three, six, nine, and 12 months after intravitreal administration of 20 mg of triamcinolone acetonide. In addition to vitreal hemorrhage and visual acuity, intraocular pressure and cataract development were also analyzed. Results Statistically significant difference in the density of vitreal hemorrhage and visual acuity was recorded during the first and the third month after administering triamcinolone. Twenty-nine percent of the patients had a temporary rise in intraocular pressure after intravitreal triamcinolone application, and 4.1% of the patients finished the study with a developed cataract. Conclusion Intravitreally applied triamcinolone acetonide has a moderate and temporary influence on the velocity of vitreal hemorrhage reabsorption, probably by the mechanism of sedimentation of triamcinolone's crystals with blood elements. It can be a useful treatment option when vitrectomy in not possible.
Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy is a neuro-ophthalmological entity characterized by acute or subacute bilateral, not simultaneous visual loss with centro cekal scotoma and occasional further visual improvement. This rare ophthalmological disease can be accompanied with dyschromatopsia. It is associated with a matrilineal inheritance pattern. Its diagnosis used to be solely clini¬cal, aided by imaging and neuro-physiological studies, until the advent of descriptions of mitochondrial biochemical abnormalities and genetic testing. We describe a case of 24 year old male with progressive painless deterioration of visual acuity and positive family history.

Visual acuity disturbances in pregnant women were documented infrequently and in the simultaneous presence of toxemia during pregnancy or with some hematological or heart disorders.A 26-year old woman-primigravida at 31 weeks' gestation presented with sudden decreased vision in her right eye early in the morning. Fundus examination indicated for retinal arterial spasm. Complete blood examination, obstetric and internal examination must be performed in such cases. We can conclude that this case is preliminary experience and that we can expect retinal arterial occlusion in pregnant patients with hypotension, disturbed lipid profile and mild anemia. Early effective treatment can be useful in the struggle for vision gain.
