Brooklyn, NY —July 25, 2022 — scite, a startup developing the next generation of citations, has partnered with Nested Knowledge, a startup introducing living systematic reviews, to provide a comprehensive solution for medical writers and systematic reviewers to more efficiently discover and evaluate research.

Utilizing advanced machine learning, scite has developed a system that extracts citation statements from scientific articles, allowing users to see exactly how and why an article has been cited. Additionally, scite includes where the citation statement appears in the citing article and, using a combination of human experts and artificial intelligence, classifies the citation statement as supporting, contrasting, or mentioning the cited claim. These “Smart Citations” are now live on millions of articles from leading publishers like the National Academy of Sciences, Wiley, ACS, and more.

Nested Knowledge has developed a novel way for researchers to find, analyze, and present published clinical outcomes data, allowing them to build continuously updated living systematic reviews and enabling stakeholders to access their research in interactive, visual dashboards with built-in analytical tools.

With this partnership, Nested Knowledge will add Smart Citations to their living systematic review platform to provide a richer and more nuanced source of information that can be used for better screening and discovery.
