Abstract: The distribution pattern of total lipids, glyco- and phospholipids, and one betaine lipid (DGTS) in the fronds ofthe ferns Dryopteris filix-mas and Matteuccia struthiopteris was studied. The lipid composition of the embryo leaflets forming a bud, or "treble clef", and that of fully opened leaves changed throughout the growth season. The maximum amount of DGTS in clefs and mature leaves was detected at the beginning of the season. By midsummer, the DGTS content decreased, dropping to zero in the fully opened le… Show more

“…and phospholipid patterns have been reported (Rozentsvet et al, 2002). Studies on the vicilin-like protein expressed during late stages of spore development considered as ancestors of seed storage globulins of gymnosperms and angiosperms have also been performed (Shutov et al, 1998).…”

“…Plant sterols have a weak amphiphilic properties, they are well embedded in the phospholipid layers forming the cell membranes, and act as regulators of the physical state of lipid ensembles of the membranes (2). Free FA can be considered as intermediates in the synthesis of other substances, although they are also the carriers of a number of physiologically active cations (11). Тriacil-glycerides are the components of NL, which are responsible for the storage of energy (7,10).…”
