Abstract:Eddy-correlation measurements of sediment oxygen uptake rates in aquatic systems are increasingly used to obtain areal-averaged fluxes with a high temporal resolution. Here we discuss the effects of coordinate rotation and averaging time scale for Reynolds decomposition on flux estimates.
